Day 1 - God loves you

God loves you! The same God who created the heavens and the earth, who makes the wind blow, who knows everything, sees everything and has always been and always will be… loves you!

The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus, telling them of his prayer for them that they would know God’s love more and more. It’s the same prayer I pray for myself and you – and you can pray it too.

Read Ephesians 3:14-19

The whole of the Trinity is involved in loving you!
The Father is who Paul was praying to – He is large and in charge!
Jesus Christ dwells in our hearts by faith – He is the One who made it possible to know God personally by dying for us on the cross.
The Spirit strengthens us with power to be rooted and grounded in love. When a plant has deep roots it stands tall and is hard to blow over. Its roots are where the plant gains the food it needs to grow. So we need to be rooted in God’s love. When someone is grounded, they are considered unshakeable! God’s love given by the strengthening power of the Holy Spirit makes us grow strong and unshakeable in our faith!
The size of God’s love for you is enormous – breadth, length, height and depth are all bigger than what we can know, so we can be filled with the fullness of God.

Pray: Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with God’s love.

Knowing God (J.I. Packer)

Knowing God is an absolute classic! If you only buy one book other than the Bible, then it should be this one. KNOWING GOD is one of the most significant and popular Christian books of our time and has deepened the faith and understanding of millions of people around the world. 'Dr Packer says we're cruel to ourselves if we try to live in his world without knowing about the God whose world it is and who runs it. I'm convinced we're cruel if we deny ourselves the wisdom contained in this Christian classic.' Rico Tice
